More on West Highland 37s

With reference to the article in Rl Mar 14 about the last week of West Highland Class 37 operations, I can tell you that 37405 did indeed work the 2045 Fort William-Mallaig on Friday January 20 1989, and then of course came back on the 0700 to Fort William the following morning. I was on both of them (thankfully got a B&B in Mallaig!) It figures that 37405 didn't do the 1445 Fort William-Queen Street that afternoon, and I imagine it also worked the 1610 to Mallaig and 1845 back before working the 2045. I would guess whatever did the 1015 from Queen Street that morning went back to Glasgow on the 1445.
