It is hoped that, pending the completion of repairs, Class 14 D9523 will be able to take part in the Nene Valley Railway's October 14-16 diesel gala. If it does, it will be restricted to the Yarwell Shuttles on the Saturday and Sunday. Sadly, despite the success of the diesels at the Strathspey Railway's July Family weekend, the proposed diesel gala for November has been cancelled. The railway does plan to hold another Family weekend in 2017, so hopefully the diesel will get a good showing then.
