German tests for ScotRail 385s

TWO OF Hitachi's new Class 385 EMUs are to undertake a series of high-speed dynamic trials in Germany over the next few months to assist in speeding up the acceptance process for running in the UK. Locomotives will be used to haul the sets at speeds of up to lOOmph, with the vehicles loaded to the equivalent of full capacity to test ride quality. The tests will take place at various sites on different sections of track. It is anticipated that the two units involved are likely to be 385002/101, which are already at the Velim test track in the Czech Republic.
