Multinational - Project To Construct Access Roads To The Road-Rail Bridge Over The Congo River - Appraisal Report

As part of the implementationof the Central AfricanConsensual TransportMaster Plan (PDCT-AC), theGovernments of the DemocraticRepublic of Congo (DRC) andthe Republic of Congo (RC)decided, under the auspicesof the Economic Communityof Central African States(ECCAS), to conduct a studyon the construction of a road-rail bridge betweenKinshasa and Brazzaville and on the Kinshasa-Ileborailway line. To this end, detailed studies on theconstruction of the bridge financed by the Bankand the NEPAD Infrastructure Project PreparationFacility (NEPAD-IPPF) Special Fund wereconducted and the results made available in 2016.These preliminary studies allow for the conduct ofcomprehensive detailed studies to underpin themobilisation of financial resources needed to build aroad-rail bridge between Kinshasa and Brazzaville.
