FAST/HAL update

With the increased funding from the Association of American Railroads in 2006, the test train at the Facility for Accelerated Service Testing, Transportation Technology Center, Pueblo, Colo., continues to accumulate tonnage at a higher rate than in recent years. Under the AAR's Strategic Research Initiatives Program, test train loads have increased from 33 tons to 39 tons and more than 1,800 million gross tons of heavy-axle-load traffic has accumulated since 1988.
