The election season is upon us and with so many issues facing our country, it's important to learn as much as we can about the candidates for public office. Obviously there are a number of issues to consider. I happen to enjoy many outdoor activities including hunting and fishing, so issues affecting the availability of land to be used for hunting and the quality of the land and water are important to me. However, I understand the competing demands that often take place between development/resource utilization and conservation/preservation and the need to establish a reasonable balance. I regularly contact my senators and representatives, both state and federal, to let them know my thoughts on the issues of importance to me.
