High power diesels enter service

RZD has put into service 12 three-section 9.3 MW locomotives supplied by Trans-mashholding's Bryansk works, which the manufacturer says are the most powerful diesels in the 1520 mm gauge region.The 3TE25K2M has been developed from the twin-section 2TE25K Peresvet design, of which 502 have been produced since 2005. The locos have AC-DC transmissions and are designed for the harsh weather conditions experienced in the far east of Russia.
