Railcards continue to prove their worth

I have just purchased a three-year Senior Railcard for £70 - my fifth! I am a Waitrose man, but I'm told that those who shop in Tesco can convert £10 worth of their Clubcard vouchers into a free one- year railcard (worth £30), so that's well worth considering. Some readers have told me of problems getting railcards 'added' to an Oyster. I took mine to the Bakerloo/Northern Underground ticket hall at Waterloo and asked a roving person if he could do it for me. He took me to a ticket machine, and I held my Oyster against the reader while he keyed in the details from my railcard... and that was it. It literally took less than one minute.
