Problems looming on TfL Rail 'local' trains to Reading

AS reported in RAIL 889, TfL Rail will be taking over 'local' trains between Paddington and Reading from the start of the next timetable on December 15. Great Western Railway (GWR) will still run the occasional peak fast service to Slough, Maidenhead and Twyford, and will continue operating the Greenford, Windsor & Eton Central, Marlow and Henley-on-Thames branches as shuttles. Just to clarify: when RAIL said that Acton Main Line, West Ealing and Hanwell will not be served by TfL Rail, it is the new Reading services that won't call at those three stations -indeed, TfL Rail is currently the only operator to do so, with stops in its existing Hayes & Harlington/Heathrow trains which will (of course) continue.
