The Transsiberian is a main line some 10,000 km in length that connects Asia with Europe and provides economic and transport links between Russia and Europe and the countries of the Asia Pacific region. The Transsiberian main line handles freight delivered to Russian ports in the Far East from the countries in the Asia Pacific region and takes it to the Baltic States, Finland, Belarus, Ukraine and to Russian ports on the Baltic and Black Seas. From there goods are carried on to eastern and western European countries.
