The life cycle costs (LCC) of entire rail networks: An international comparision

The level of cost for infrastructure is a determining element for the business success of railways. They have to be matched with the specified performances and the achievable results. The relevant matching process is demanding and it is easier to find the optimal way by comparison. With that aim UIC (International Union of Railways) started a project for benchmarking the cost of railway infrastructure.
