NRT to include emissions data

In updated guidance on environmental arrangements for licence-holders published on December 13, ORR says it will require them to draw up 'a policy designed to protect the environment from the effects of your licensed activities'. Operators must also 'establish supporting objectives and management arrangements to give effect to your policy'. As part of this process, licence-holders are required during the current year to start supplying ORR with statistics that can be compared with key performance indicators set by the revised guidance. Starting this month, this will include the amount of die-sel fuel consumed and also kWh of electricity used for traction per passengcr-km or tonne-km of freight carried.
