After four weeks during which Princes Street remained closed to traffic as preparations for laying tracks for Edinburgh's first LRT line were halted by a dispute between the client, TIE Ltd, and the building consortium BSC, resolution of the issue was announced on March 20.rnThis came just before the deadline for going to arbitration, which would have seen independent assessors determine a fair cost for the works. Although it was reported locally that consortium members Bilfinger Berger, Siemens and CAF were seeking an extra £80m for building Line 1, all thernparties involved refused to disclose the issues in dispute.
