Thetrainline.com reported on March 25 that ticket sales for 'outbound journeys' between April 9 and 11 at the start of the Easter weekend were up by 43% on Easter 2008, with bookings to London up by 238% from Birmingham and by 320% from Glasgow. Travellers were 'finally becoming wise to the savings that can be made by booking in advance', said Commercial Director Ben Pearson.
