Updated Electrostar rolls out

Bombardier unveiled the first Class 379 EMU at its Derby plant on October 14. Lloyds TSB had ordered 30 of the units on behalf of National Express East Anglia at cost of ￡ 155m in April 2009.rnAlthough part of the Electrostar family, the four-car Class 379 incorporates a number of changes from the original design developed in the late 1990s. These include enhancements which would be used on the Aventra next-generation EMU which Bombardier is proposing for the Thameslink contract.
