Chiltern Railways aims to provide a half-hourly service between London Marylebone and Oxford with a 66 min journey time when its Evergreen 3 project is completed. This will be only 5 min slower than the fastest First Great Western timing from Paddington. However, Chiltern believes that one key to the success of Evergreen 3 will be Water Eaton Parkway which will be 58 min from London. With its excellent bus connections and large car park, the new station is expected to attract travellers from the eastern side of Oxford who would otherwise have to travel into the city centre.
