Industry insiders have confirmed that the requirement for 24 trains/h to operate through the central London core to deliver Key Output 2 of the Thameslink Programme has been abandoned. The new requirement is for 20 trains/h.rnAlthough the reasons for the cutback are disputed, the reduced frequency will avoid the need for Automatic Train Operation.
