Level crossinq incident at Butterswood

At about 07.35 on June 25, a Northern Rail Class 153 DMU forming the 07.00 Cleethorpes - Barton-on-Humber service was driven over Butterswood level crossing with the barriers raised and the road open to traffic. A car was approaching the crossing at the time, and the car driver later reported the incident to Network Rail. Located between Goxhill and Thornton Abbey stations, Butterswood is a locally-monitored automatic barrier crossing (ABCL). When the barriers are raised and road traffic is free to use the crossing, a flashing red light warns the driver of an oncoming train to stop until a flashing white light indicates that the process of closing the crossing to road traffic has commenced.
