1. Concerns are emerging over the performance of the bi-mode trainsets to be supplied by Hitachi under the Intercity Express Programme to replace IC125s. The new trains may not be able to match speeds and timings, while their shorter range under diesel power could affect diagramming. 2. With disruption and overcrowding at London Bridge (RBI479 p4) continuing, on March 4 Transport Minister Claire Perry gave Network Rail and Southern four weeks to produce a revised timetable for services into the station, including optimised train lengths to maximise capacity.
