RMT now in dispute at Northern

Having initially welcomed correspondence from Northern which appeared to indicate that agreement could be reached over 'the best method of train dispatch and staff safety competencies' (RB1527 p8), RMT confirmed on February 16 that a ballot of guard and driver members for industrial action was underway at the TOC. Involving over 1 200 Northern staff, the ballot closes on the February 28.
