G&W buys Pentalver

Genesee & Wyoming lnc has entered into an agreement to purchase Pentalver Transport Ltd, an operator of container terminals at five locations in the UK. Subject to closing conditions, including competition clearance and finalising lease agreements, the transaction is expected to close in Quarter 1 of 2017. With 600 employees, Pentalver operates off-dock container terminals at Felixstowe, Southampton, London Gateway and Tilbury, as well as an inland terminal at Can-nock in the West Midlands. It has a fleet of 150 lorries providing a daily service from Cannock to Felixstowe and Southampton, and also provides container sales, maintenance and repair services.
