Improving the Effectiveness of Visual Inspection

Visual inspection is the most common type of inspection across all markets. The best way to reduce inspection needs is to improve process capability, but every product employs some visual inspection. (Remember, the customer has the final inspection.)Visual inspection is defined as the systematic evaluation of the appearance of objects by human inspectors with or without hand-held devices. While complete human inspection reliability is unattainable, the author provides suggestions for process optimization.
