Three years ago when John Carey was named president of AIG Consultants Inc. (AIGC), he decided to focus on quality and consistency of customer service as the driving force toward business success. AIGC, a member company of American International Group Inc. (AIG), provides engineering consulting services worldwide. Familiar with ISO 9000 and its roots in the manufacturing sector, Carey was determined to find a way to incorporate the quality management standard into the consulting business. When the standard was retooled in 2000, Carey took it as a signal to move forward.
