Regarding the Technical Correspondence article on page 50 of the Jan 2009 issue of QST, I was unable to make this work with my Windows XP Home Edition computer. After some research, it looks like RDP on Windows XP is only available on the XP Professional Edition, and not on XP Home Edition. You can only make a Windows XP Home Edition computer a client, and not a host. Also, I believe that RDP is only available on Windows 2000 Server Edition, and not on a straight Windows 2000 system. "Remote" does not even show up on my Windows 2000 computer in the System box. You can download a client application from Microsoft, MSRDPCLI.EXE that you can install on a straight Windows 2000 computer or any version of Widows 98SE or higher, to make those systems serve as a client, but not as a host.
