摘要

Lookingback over my diaries, though, I realize that wasn't really the beginning, but rather a stepping- stone along the way to starvation: learning how exhilarating hunger can be. Not long ago, I was sitting in a highceilinged apartment in Berlin with a cup of tea and my laptop, my boyfriend lying on the bed reading, interrupting me now and then with talk of where we might go and eat the next night, our last evening before we flew back to England.
