It has been a big week for Susie McCabe, co-chief executive of McArthurGlen, On Monday, the government (finally) eased lockdown restrictions, allowing non-essential retail to reopen. It was perfect timing for McArthurGlen, which opened the doors of its new £160m designer outlet in the West Midlands for the first time on the same day.The new outlet centre marks a significant moment in the history of McArthurGlen. The group's first UK opening in more than 20 years represents a return to the market via which it introduced the concept of designer outlet retailing to Europe, with Cheshire Oaks in 1995. It currently owns and operates more than 7.2m sq ft of retail space across its 25 designer outlets in Europe and Canada.
