Hull commitment to public realm recognised in City of Culture 2017 award

For the people of Hull, it is as if the London 2012 Olympic Games never ended. In November, the city beat off competition from Dundee, Leicester and Swansea Bay to become UK City of Culture 2017. Phil Redmond, the television producer who chaired the judges that bestowed the title, commended Hull for its "community and creative engagement".
