Last month, the first pallet left through the doors of SEGRO's new multi-level logistics facility on the outskirts of Paris. The opening of Air2 Logistique marked a major milestone for SEGRO. The developer had spent years working up designs, appraising the rental model and assessing occupier demand for multi-storey sheds and finally, it had delivered. The plan now is to roll out similar schemes in and around London as well as other major European cities. As chief operating officer Andy Gulliford tells Property Week at the grand opening: "It's proof of concept," the blueprint for a "new generation of multistorey" sheds.
