TEAM WORK

According to one definition of the word "team," a group of people must "operate with a high degree of interdependence, share authority and responsibility, and work toward a common goal." That's what the six members of CSX Corp.'s senior team are striving to do despite a slightly different dynamic. In early 2012, several personnel changes altered the team's roster to: • Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Michael Ward, the team's leader since 2003 who, prior to assuming the top post, held key executive positions in sales and marketing, operations and finance.
