High-performance dowel-type joints for timber structures

摘要

This paper identifies the fundamental factors that affect the performance of dowel-type joints between structural timber members. It considers methods that have been used to enhance joint performance and illustrates how these have been brought together in two alternative high-performance joints. The paper concludes with examples of structures built with one of these alternative joints.
