摘要

State Key Laboratory of Transient Optics and Technology (SKLTOT), which is located in Xi'an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics (XIOPM), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), was established in March of 1991, and it formally opened to domestic and international scholars in 1992. It is well known that with developments of ultrashort light pulse technology and ultrahigh speed measurement technology, scientists enter into temporal ranges of nanosecond, picosecond and even femtosecond to study changing processes of matter. The shorter the excitation and detection light sources are, the higher the temporal resolution is. The study has transferred from the macroscopic statistical average method to the microscopic direct observation method. Therefore, transient optical technology plays an important role in research of ultrafast processes of interaction between light and matter.
