摘要

A plane element that can take account of confining effect of out-of-plane reinforcements is developed for the finite element analysis of reinforced concrete members.This element is formulated by considering the mechanism of confinement by reinforcements embedded in the out-of-plane direction.The applicability of this element is demonstrated through simulation analyses of the past experiment of a reinforced concrete column specimen subjected to high axial compression and horizontal loads. The maximum load of the specimen is represented well by the analysis using proposed elements,while the ordinary plane stress analysis underestimates the actual strength.
