The paragraph starting on p. 127, column 2, line 15: 'ANCF is a finite-element procedure that was recently proposed for flexible multi-body applications [4]. The formulation can be applied to conventional as well as to shear deformable beam and plate elements. In the shear deformable elements, the beam and plate elements can be described as continuum by using positions and position gradients as nodal coordinates. In contrast to conventional beam and plate elements, position gradients of the material point within the element are derivatives of the displacement field. In continuum beam and plate/shell elements, the kinematics and constitutive assumptions for conventional beam and plate/shell theories can be relaxed.'
