摘要

A new intelligent tracking system that consists of a mechanical transmission mechanism and intelligent control is designed for a solar cell. All aspects of the design process are described in detail. It is shown with the help of a prototype that this system can judge weather conditions and track the sun accurately. On comparing this system with a 'two-axis' tracking system, it is found that the energy produced by this system is nearly the same as by the 'two-axis' tracking system when the energy consumed by tracking the sun is taken into consideration; however, it has several further advantages such as a simple mechanism, straightforward intelligent tracking programs and low overall construction cost.
