An appraisal of the design rules in Eurocode 3 for bolted end-plate joints by comparison with experimental results

摘要

A large number of full-scale tests carried out on bolted end-plate joints are summarized in this paper. The three main properties of the joints, namely the moment resistance, rotational stiffness and rotation capacity, are determined and compared with values obtained by the design rules of Eurocode 3. Technical content of Eurocode 3 concerning joint design is examined, and discrepancies between test results and Eurocode 3 predictions are analysed.
