Direct Print of Memory Circuits Has Myriad Applications, Inventors Say

Finnish research organization VTT has developed a method for printing memory circuits directly on various substrates such as consumer packaging, and is seeking partners to commercialize the invention. The write-once-read-many (WORM) memories can be fabricated directly on the product or packaging using flexographic or inkjet printing machines, common in the packaging industry, the researchers say. Because the required production technology is quite simple, no major investments are required.
