As the North American economy recovers, natural gas-fired generation stands a good chance of being the preferred technology for new development. Its environmental footprint is smaller than other fossil fuels, it offers flexibility in terms of use and its construction timeframe can offer advantages when it comes to minimizing the exposure of expensive capital.
