Synchrotron X-ray powder diffraction pattern of the M8 murataite polytype

The authors present here the superior result of synchrotron X-ray diffraction indexing of the 8 x 8 x 8 fluorite supercell, murataite, M8 (formula Ca(66.37)Mn(29.33)Ti1(86.76)Zr(83.35)Al(46.30)Fe(74.09)O(817), a = 39.277(3) angstrom, Z = 4). The authors present evidence that Fd (3) over barm (227) is the most likely space group. (c) 2017 International Centre for Diffraction Data.
