The new Danish-Swedish port Copenhagen Malmo Port AB commenced on New Years Day this year, but did not officially open until 15th May 2001. At the ceremony in Copenhagen, one shipping manager declared, "Malmo has only been Swedish for 400 years. It was Danish for 1600. Now it is coming back to Denmark."
