Investigation and detection methods continue to advance for individual cases and larger outbreaks of Legionel-losis, a severe form of pneumonia which may be caused by a number of species of Legionella bacteria. As more cases are reported, the public becomes more aware of the potential for acquiring Legionellosis from in or around the buildings they occupy or work in. It is the building owner's responsibility to make sure the entire building water system is safe in order to reduce the risk of an outbreak.
