Mid-Atlantic and Midwest spot power prices declined Tuesday with very little change seen in peakload outlooks. PJM West Hub on-peak was dragged down nearly $4 to the low $30s/MWh for Wednesday delivery on the Intercontinental Exchange. PJM West Hub on-peak balance-of-the-week and next-week packages were traded in the mid-$30s/MWh. The PJM Interconnection called for a peakload around 88.7 GW Tuesday, 88.9 GW Wednesday and 91.4 GW Thursday. PJM's peakload so far this month has been averaging well above levels last year, as peakload has averaged around 99.4 GW through the first half of October, compared with October 2017's average around 90.4 GW.
