PacifiCorp, subsidiary launch $3.1 billion wind expansion in Wyoming

set to break ground Wednesday on what will be a $3.1 billion wind andtransmission project that will double the size of the state’s windcapacity and begin moving more wind power west to other parts ofPacifiCorp’s service territory.The groundbreaking is to begin a repowering project of one of ninewind farms that PacifiCorp owns and operates in Wyoming, but is partof a project that will involve building three new wind facilities with 1,150MW of capacity in locations that surround the town of Medicine Bow,which has become the epicenter of Wyoming wind.
