SRECs, RECs mostly flat to lower, NJ SRECs advance

Prices for Renewable Energy Certificates and Solar Renewable EnergyCertificates were mostly flat to lower for the trading week endingAugust 8, with less trading activities compared to the prior week.According to S&P Global Platts data, MA V18 SRECs were assessedat about $385/SREC, down almost $4 from last week and continued itsloss of $2 from the prior week.The auction result from the annual solar credit clearinghouseauction, held by Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources inlate July, has not been released yet.The clearinghouse auction was designed as a price supportmechanism for the market in years when more SRECs are producedthan compliance buyers need.On the other hand, New Jersey SREC V18 were assessed about$1.50 higher at around $216/SREC, reversing the loss of about 75 centsfrom last week, but still below the year-to-date high of over $240/SREChit in early June.
