Despite second quarter hiccups, Avangrid bullish on long-term renewable energy outlook

Sustainable energy company Avangrid’s second quarter earnings were hit by multiple storms that negatively impacted financial results, but the company also won bids for two major projects in New England, executives told analysts Tuesday. Aside from some “hiccups” that are now mostly behind the company, Avangrid is bullish on its long-term renewable energy project outlook, particularly with regard to US offshore wind power development, CEO James Torgerson said during the firm’s second quarter earnings call.
