The Midcontinent Independent System Operator extended aconservation operation notice and issued a capacity advisory in itsSouth region through late Tuesday, as tight market conditions wereexpected.The grid operator extended a conservation operation notice formost of its South footprint Monday, making it effective 6:15 am EDTMonday through 8 pm EDT Tuesday. The notice was originally set toexpire at 10 pm EDT Monday. It calls for maintenance on alltransmission and generation resources to be suspended and thatoutage plans for current or scheduled maintenance be deferred orcanceled.MISO also issued a maximum generation capacity advisory for itsSouth region, effective 5 pm EDT Monday through 8 pm EDT Tuesday,asking participants to prepare for capacity emergency procedures, toupdate market data and implement demand response programs ifnotified by MISO.
