IAEA review mission notes improvements in France's nuclear regulation

An IAEA Integrated Regulatory Review Service mission to France has found that the country has “significantly strengthened its regulatory framework for nuclear and radiation safety,” the IAEA said in a statement October 9. The eight-day IRRS mission was a follow-up to a 2014 mission. The IAEA said in its statement that 14 of 16 recommendations from the 2014 mission had been implemented by the time of the latest mission.
