Turkish regulator issues limited work permit for Akkuyu-2

The Turkish Atomic Energy Authority has provided Russianstate-owned nuclear company Rosatom with a permit authorizinglimited work on the construction of the 1,200-MW Akkuyu-2, Rosatomsaid in a statement December 14.The permission allows Akkuyu Nuclear JSC, the Turkish subsidiaryof Rosatom, to proceed with construction and installation work on theunit but without conducting any safety-related nuclear island work,Rosatom said in the statement.
