摘要

Macedonia's state transmission system operator MEPSO will have to secure further imports in the near future due to significantly lower than expected production at its hydropower plants, the company's general director, Vladimir Zdravev, said February 27.rnOver the last two months, the country's hydropower plants have produced 37% less power than planned as a result of low rainfall, and combined with higher electricity demand on the part of the country's distributor ESM, which is owned by Austria's EVN, will require that MEPSO arrange for additional imports, Zdravev said. Zdravev said that the government would pay for the additional power imports, thus preventing a hike in the price for retail and industrial consumers.
