Azerbaijan, which aims to become a major gas exporter to EU markets through the planned Nabucco pipeline and other projects, is considering an increase in the price of its gas exports to neighboring Georgia. Azerbaijan is seeking a price of $180-200/1,000 cubic meters in 2008, up 50% from last year.rnThe new price is being negotiated by the governments of the two countries, said Azerbaijan's energy minister, Natik Aliyev. "The gas price will suit both countries," Aliyev said, as quoted by Azerbaijan's APA news agency, adding that Georgia would like to import some 1-1.5 billion cubic meters per year from Azerbaijan.rn"But this does not mean that the demand will be met in full [by Azerbaijan]," Aliyev said. Azerbaijan is considering exports of some 500 million cu m/year.
