Anglo-Swiss power trader Energy Financing Team (EFT) signed February 25 an agreement with the Bosnian Serb government for the construction and operation of a 420-MW lignite-fired thermal power plant in Stanari near the northern town of Doboj.rnThe agreement provides EFT with a 30-year concession for the construction and operation of the power plant, with the option to extend the concession for a further 15 years, spokesman Nenad Savic told Platts, February 25. Under the terms of the concession, EFT will pay the government a one-off fee of €1.85 million as well as 3.6% of the plant's annual income, which EFT conservatively estimates will cost it around €5 million. Annual income from the plant, construction of which is expected to start later this year and which is due to enter commercial operation by the end of 2012, has been estimated at €153 million ($227 million).
